Happy Anniversary...in San Diego

If you read the "comments" in the last post, you may have worried a bit about Alex's and my marriage. Be assured, though, that we did not celebrate our anniversary by sending Alex off with the boys to see a sub-par movie...although, not a bad present on my part: guilt-free time away from crazy family. Instead, thanks to Grandpa Kent and Gammy Dale, we got to spend a couple of no-kids days down in San Diego. Some highlights...
  • really nice hotel (US Grant)
  • Alex surprised me by arranging to have French tulips (my favorite and the flower of the wedding) and sparkling apple cider waiting for us.
  • holding each others' hands while walking around the city...without worrying about a toddler running into the street
  • yummy, yummy food--steakhouse, famous breakfast place, and sushi (yea! not pregnant anymore!)
  • despite above bullet, did not wear any maternity clothes...yippee! still big, of course, but progress is progress...
  • tour of aircraft carrier Midway
  • making Alex pose on beds throughout trip/tour...mostly just to embarrass him...see collage.
  • not packing a diaper bag or changing a diaper for almost 48 hours (of course, both boys had messy diapers awaiting us when we got back)
  • talking and laughing about the boys
  • watching Date Night...way funnier when you're parents
  • sleeping!! hooray!!

flowers and our view...
in the brig...

You know...if this whole attorney thing doesn't work out I think Alex is a natural bed model. Congrats again on 4 years!

Alex you Playa you. I hope the breakfast was at Hash House! If not that's where you're going on your 5 yr bfast.

those pictures of alex remind me of Christmas at the Cabin when we played that adjective game or adverb game I can't remember. Well Happy Anniversary!
